Six Albums Now Available!

Collaborations with Wisconsin Songwriter

I am excited to announce that the wonderful songwriter Frank X. Sommers and I have released six albums of music! Frank and I have collaborated on songwriting and arrangements and have brought in a fantastic group of musicians to add to these fun creations! Recording was done mostly at Blast House Studios in Madison, Wisconsin with Sound Engineer Landon Arkens. The albums were produced by Bonnie Sommers-Olson.

These albums are available for streaming and purchase on all major platforms. I prefer Bandcamp for purchasing of the albums, as they allow for the artists to receive the most money from purchases.

All six albums will be available as CDs in March 2026.

Making our shared humanity accessible

I’m Andreas Transø. I have a passion for the arts and for the history of our shared humanity. From the stories of immigration to the United States to maritime music and work songs, children’s songs, songs of loss and love, and the struggle for freedom and human dignity, I work to share history in experiential and entertaining ways.

My performances are engaging with lots of audience participation, and I feel that is important that people feel connected and involved and that the material does not come across as “academic,” dated, or joyless.

Whatever a person’s skill level, knowledge, or personal experience, the stories of our shared humanity should be accessible and safe…and even entertaining…for all.

  • I offer captivating solo performances that blend traditional Irish music, ballads, and unique instruments like the bodhrán, tin whistle, bouzouki, tenor banjo, and spoons. With years of experience and a deep connection to folk traditions, I tailor each performance to create an unforgettable atmosphere at your event “Wakes, Weddings, Funerals….and everywhere in-between.”

  • Whether performing with the Tullamore Dewds, Hup Caledonia!, The Handful of Earth Band, The Bog Bodies, or other music ensembles, I bring the energy of live traditional music to every performance. My band performances showcase a fusion of Celtic, American, Maritime, and Original music to create a vibrant and engaging experience for audiences.

  • I lead interactive sea shanty sessions that are fun for all ages and abilities. Drawing from my extensive experience as a historian and traditional-style singer, I take on the roll of a "shanty man," and teach call-and-response work songs, bringing participants together in a spirited celebration of maritime tradition.

  • I offer dynamic music education and workshops for all ages, covering a wide range of topics such as traditional rhythm playing on the bodhrán, spoons, and bones, Morris dancing, Maypole dancing, and ballad and Sean-nós singing. I also teach wordplay workshops and storytelling, limerick writing, “Inflationary” language, Spoonerisms, and Mnemonic storytelling. I also teach basic instrument building. With my background in music and teaching, I create an engaging, hands-on learning experience that fosters creativity and cultural appreciation.

  • I bring stories to life with my unique storytelling performances, blending humor, history, and poetry. Whether for an intimate gathering or a large event, my storytelling sessions add a memorable touch to any special occasion, including weddings, festivals, classrooms, and ceremonies.

  • I’m always open to collaborating with events, festivals, schools, and communities to bring my skills into your programming. Whether it’s adding music, storytelling, dancing, or educational workshops, I can tailor my offerings to fit your needs and help create a unique experience for your audience. Let’s work together to bring something special to your event!
