An Educator…
Bringing History and Fun to Life: Educational Programs with Andreas Transo
I’ve had the privilege of presenting educational programs at libraries, schools, summer camps, festivals, and universities, sharing my passion for history, music, and hands-on learning. Over the years, I’ve had the opportunity to work with a variety of institutions, helping them secure grant funding for residencies or one-time events, whether for large groups or smaller, more intimate sessions.
My presentations cover a broad range of topics, each designed to engage and inspire participants of all ages. Some of the sessions I’ve led include:
Maypole construction and dancing
American social dancing, including square and contra dancing
Historical storytelling and the art of spoonerisms
Spoons playing and the famous "spoons haircut" performance
Irish dance music and singing
Maple syrup making
Dream catcher crafting
Ballad-style and traditional singing
Harmonics and creating soundscapes
Basic instrument building and wand making
Imagination play and wild foraging
Plant identification and more!
Each program is designed to be hands-on and interactive, inviting participants to not only learn but actively participate in the creation of something memorable. I’m always excited to work with institutions to bring these unique experiences to life and inspire students to connect with the world around them in new and exciting ways! If you’re looking for a dynamic and engaging presentation for your group, feel free to reach out—I’m happy to collaborate and tailor programs to meet your needs.
